Korean Literature Now (KLN), a literary journal produced and distributed to introduce Korean literature and writers to the general public and experts abroad and form a discourse on Korean literature, accepts and publishes publishers’ and literary critics’ reviews of translated works of Korean literature that have been published outside of Korea. This is a review of Yi Sang: Selected Works, an English translation of the selected works of Yi Sang.

This is an introductory booklet on Chong Hyon-jong, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. Chong Hyon-jong author participated literary events in March and September, and in the main program in October. This 21-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Poetry Excerpts’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by the literary critic Lee Gwang-ho, and translated by Yoon Il-sook. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. The booklet contains seven poems including ‘The Island’ translated into German. He attended literary events in Leipzig, Jena (March), Berlin (September) and at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion, the Frankfurt House of Literature, and the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) in October. The German translation of his poetry collection The Island was published in 1996.

This is an introductory material on poet Kim Huran, produced for the 2009 Literary Event Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties between Korea and Poland. A variety of literary events including “Literature Night,” and it was well received by the audience, despite the fact that Korean literature was not very well known in Poland. The 28-page information booklet consists of three sections: “About the Author,” “World of Works,” and “Excerpts.” It includes Kim’s poems “Sarainneun gippeum (살아있는 기쁨, Living Joy),” “Bamhaneure (밤하늘에, In the Night Sky),” and “Nunui nara (눈의 나라 A Country of Snow).”

The theme of _List Vol. 10 is “Poetry of Korea.” Through the three subthemes “Where the Power of the Pen Still Lives On,” “Rediscovering the Self Through Lyricism,” and the “Rise of a Modern Sensibility,” this issue introduces the social context that gave birth to Korean poetry, as well as English translations of works by poets Hwang Tong-gyu, Ra Heeduk, Moon Taejun, Chong Hyon-jong, Lee Seong-Bok, and Jang Jung-il. In addition, this issue features interviews with poet Chong Hyon-jong and novelist Lee Seung-U, Korean publishing trends, coverage of the acceptance of Korean literature overseas, author’s notes by novelist Song Sokze, a spotlight on a literary site, book reviews of fiction/nonfiction/children’s literature, and an excerpt from Oh Jung-hee’s “Garden of Childhood” and introduces steady sellers, publishers, and trends in Korean literature to overseas readers.

2023 Promotional Video for Korean Literature in Collaboration with Incheon Airport : Counting the Stars at NightEnglish(English) Video & Audio

In 2023, the Literature Translation Institute of Korea signed an agreement with Incheon International Airport Corporation for the public literature content exhibition project and produced a promotional video for Korean literature. Yun Tong-Ju’s “Counting the Stars at Night” and Han Kang’s “The White Book” have been animated and displayed in five large screens at Incheon Airport. Illustrator Soman worked on the artwork, and separate versions were created in Korean and English, as well as for landscape and portrait formats.
