代替服務制の獲得からその先へ

　2020年まで、韓国で兵役を拒否した者は否応なく収監の対象とされてきた。

　この制度を変えるべく活動を続けてきた──自らも兵役拒否者の──著者および「戦争なき世界」という社会運動団体は、ついに2018年に大法院（日本でいう最高裁）の違憲判決を勝ち取り、2020年の法施行によって「代替服務制」（軍服務ではなく、矯正施設の重症患者や身体障碍者などの生活補助などに従事する）を実現する。
