1971년 출간된 황석영의 중단편전집이다. 표제작인 <객지>를 비롯하여 <입석부근>, <탑>, <아우를 위하여> 등 모두 8편이 수록되어 있다. 표제작인 <객지>는 해방 이후의 노동자의 쟁의와 그 과정을 소설로 핍진하게 형상화한 최초의 작품이다. 특히 개성적이고 입체적인 인물들과 치밀한 플롯으로 작품이 전달하려는 주제를 잘 드러내었다는 평가를 받았다.

This collection of stories by Hwang Sok-yong was published in 1971. It contains eight stories in total, including “Near Ipseok,” “The Pagoda,” “For the Little Brother,’ and the title story, “Strange Land,” which was Hwang’s first work of fiction to embody the struggles of workers in a post-liberation setting. The stories received praise for their themes, meticulous plotting, and appealing three-dimensional characters.
