1963년(상권), 1965년(하권)에 발표된 이기영의 장편소설이다. 작품은 '필례'가 자신의 운명을 개척하겨 사회의 지도적 위치에 이르기까지의 삶을 다루고 있다. 작가는 '박필녀'라는 실제인물의 이야기를 바탕으로 소설을 만들었다. 북한에서 '혁명적 노동자의 전범'을 다룬 작품으로 평가받는다.

This novel by Ri Ki-yong was published in North Korea in two volumes, the first in 1963 and the second in 1965. Based on the story of Bak Pilnyeo, it follows Pillye, a worker who takes control of her destiny, eventually arriving at a leadership position in society. The novel is considered a portrayal of the model North Korean revolutionary worker.
