Yi Chong-jun serialized this story in the first issue of Literature and Criticism in March 1969, but due to problems at the magazine, the serial stopped and was resumed in March 1970. The original title was Suspended Sentence, and it was published together with the story “The Wall of Rumor” in a single volume with the title  The Wall of Rumor in 1972. The story follows the main character’s past and thoughts in a society that prohibits freedom of speech.
