长篇小说《裸木》是韩国著名小说家朴婉绪的处女作，又是其成名作，发表三十多年来得到韩国一代又一代人的喜爱，保持着经久不衰的魅力。小说以韩国著名的“六·二五”战争为背景，描写了战争年代被扭曲的普通人的生活、命运和内心世界，表达了人们内心的孤独、对爱情和幸福的渴望。小说中的裸木是一个象征性的存在。它诞生于因战争流落到汉城、不得不绐美军画肖像的著名画家玉熙道的笔下。在小说主人公的眼中，画家画的活像是一棵枯树。其实，那是画家对春天的憧憬，那是一棵坚韧地熬着苦寒的裸木。同时，它又是经历那场残酷战争的包括著名画家玉熙道、辍学大学生黄泰秀、用纤弱的肩膀担起全家生活重负的主人公等千千万万小人物的生动写照。
