  • Jin Eun-yeong is one of the few poets who also writes about academic subjects. Alongside her steady output of high-level poetry, she has also published scholarly writings on Kant and Nietzsche. But the two paths Jin travels are not entirely unrelated. Both require deep thought and investigation, and also fitting linguistic expression. Jin herself states, "I also want to write my memories of things, people and books that touch me, write them with my own hand, before they grow cold. Through writing, I live in time with vanished things", evincing her strong desire to write both literarily and philosophically. It is no exaggeration to say that the poet has used writing as her sole means to bear up against personal poverty, unhappiness, and the contradictions and absurdities of her time.
