This collection features translations of seven classic Korean short stories from the 17th to the 19th century, including Chunghyangjeon (춘향전 The tale of Chunhyang) and “Heungbunolbujeon” (흥부놀부전 The tale of Heungbu and Nolbu). These stories primarily focus on social satire, family, and everyday life, and often feature characters whose happiness in life has been stolen from them.

17세기부터 19세기까지의 한국 고전 단편소설을 수록한 선집으로, <춘향전>, <흥부놀부전>을 포함하여 총 일곱 작품이 수록/번역되어 있다. 사회 풍자, 가족과 일상에 대한 이야기가 주를 이루며, 주인공으로는 삶의 행복을 빼앗긴 인물들이 등장한다.
