The 1st Media Translation Contest was held in 2020. A total of 983 entries (480 for film, 503 for webtoons) from 36 countries were submitted, which attested to the popularity and widespread appeal of Korean content. The entries submitted by 45 finalists in the film category and the 44 finalists in the webtoon category were posted on the web, providing a platform for connecting the industry insiders and aspiring translators.

2020 제1회 문화콘텐츠 번역 콘테스트에는 총 36개국에서 983건(영화 480건, 웹툰 503건)이 접수되어 한류콘텐츠의 인기를 실감할 수 있었다. 본선진출자들의 영화 자막 번인 영상 45건, 웹툰 식자 이미지 파일 44건을 웹에 공개하여 업계와 신진번역가를 연결하는 플랫폼의 역할을 한다.
