This is a Cover Feature essay on the theme of KLN Vol. 68, “Stories from the Road to Adulthood.” In “A New Ethic of Anti-Growth Narratives about Young Korean Women in the 2010s,” literary critic Cho Hyungrae explores the ethic of anti-growth that breaks away from the traditional growth narrative and the possibility of a new form of subjectivity through the films Park Hwa-young and House of Hummingbird.
