According to Susan Amsterdam — a longtime Ridgewood resident recently transplanted to Midland Park — she was a bit surprised when poet and publisher Stanley Barkan approached her after a poetry reading. It was two years ago, and at Passaic County Community College, and the gathering was celebrating the launch of that year’s Paterson Literary Review.
