自伝的小説ともいうべき表題作ほか短編5編を収録。朝鮮の「開化」の時代を、極貧に耐え志をもって生きた一青年の苦悩と民族の義憤。

This collection is the seventh volume of Joseon geundae munhak seonjip (조선근대문학선집 Collection of Modern Korean Literature) published by Heibonsha. It introduces five short stories by Yi Tae Jun, along with the titular work Sasangui worya (사상의 월야 Moonlit Night of Ideology). It also includes explanatory notes from the translator, Tsutomu Kumaki.

헤이본샤(平凡社)의 '조선근대문학선집' 제7권으로, 표제작인 이태준의 장편 소설 『사상의 월야』와 함께 1930~1940년대에 발표된 그의 단편 소설 다섯 편을 소개하고 있는 선집이다. 역자 구마키 쓰토무(熊木勉)의 해설도 수록되어 있다.
